Andrea Washington is a native Houstonian. She is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner through American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She graduated from the University of Texas-Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She began her career in 2009 as an Intensive Care Nurse at Memorial Hermann John S. Dunn Sr. Burn Center. In 2012, she ventured to gastroenterology as an Endoscopy Nurse. She advanced her career with a focus in gastroenterology by becoming a nurse practitioner at Prairie View A & M with a Master’s Science in Nursing. Andrea believes nursing is a rewarding career that gives her the opportunity to provide advanced nursing care across the continuum of healthcare services to meet the specialized physiological and psychological needs of her patients and their families. Since 2012, she has worked closely with her supervising physicians becoming knowledgeable about disease pathology and common gastroenterology illness. Andrea’s patient population consists of new and established patients in the clinic as well as patients in the hospital.
Andrea Washington is a member of multiple professional organizations - American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Houston Area Nurse Practitioners, and Texas Nurse Practitioners. She enjoys volunteering in her local community, and spending time with her family and friends.
